Building Donated to Forerunner Christian Academy

     Forerunner Christian Academy (FCA), Bonham's only private Christian school, finally has a place to call home. Since opening in 2006, FCA has had to move around to various locations and churches to operate its preschool, elementary, and high school programs. The teachers, staff, and students of FCA have been praying for a facility to call their own. Last month, their prayers were answered. The owners of Fairview Nursing Home announced their plans to donate this building to FCA. On June 28, FCA acquired the 20,000 sq. ft. facility, which has 52 rooms, a large dining room and kitchen, a vast open indoor play area, and an enormous fenced outdoor play yard. The facility has ample space to include a library and computer lab. In addition, the building will provide a safe environment for the children, including a security system and fire sprinkler system.

     The FCA Board of Directors are ecstatic about this new building. “We are very excited about having a permanent location in which to operate our school,” states Kathy Brown, a Board Member of FCA. “Several churches in Bonham have graciously hosted us for the past few years, but due to our growth, we have had to relocate each year. With this facility we have plenty of space to not only accommodate our current student population, but now we have enough room to continue to grow and minister to more families in this community.” 

     The community is invited to join FCA as they dedicate the building. On Friday, July 23, at 9:00 a.m., the Bonham Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for FCA.
